One of the objectives of Government of Canada is to see that families are reunited. Certain family members may qualify to settle in Canada and become permanent residents under family class category. If you are 18 years of age or older, and you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you may be eligible to sponsor a/an:
- Dependent child/ Children
- Spouse, Common-law or Conjugal partner
- Adopted Child/ Children
- Relatives (brother, Sister etc.)
Parent & Grand-Parent Sponsorship
If you are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident, you may be eligible to sponsor your Parent or Grandparent to come to Canada and live with you permanently. Spousal Sponsorship
The spousal sponsorship program is part of the Family class immigration. Under this program, a Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident may sponsor a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner for Canadian Permanent residency.
You may be eligible as a sponsor if you meet the following conditions:
- Are at least 18 years old
- Live in Canada, or planning to return to Canada once your spouse or partner becomes a permanent resident of Canada
